Delaware Selects Fox Systems To Conduct Its MITA SS-A and MMIS Planning

McLean, Va. (BUSINESS WIRE)–Fox Systems (FOX) has been awarded the Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) State Self‐Assessment (SS‐A) and Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Automated System Planning project for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA). With tools and methodologies used for MITA assessments in 18 States, FOX will guide DMMA through both the MITA SS‐A and procuring enhancements to its current MMIS.

FOX’s work will incorporate the principles of both MITA and the new CMS MMIS Certification Toolkit. At the conclusion of the project SS‐A, DMMA will have four important documents: 1) “As‐Is” and “To‐Be” MITA maturity levels for the 79 MITA business processes, 2) a MITA transition plan that incorporates DMMA’s strategic MITA vision, 3) the MITA SS‐A documentation necessary to submit an Implementation Advance Planning Document to CMS, and 4) an RFP for the MMIS enhancement procurement. FOX has been a key contractor to CMS in developing MITA since MITA’s inception in 2002 and firmly believes, with CMS, that MITA provides the opportunity for States to redesign their Medicaid programs, and the systems that support them, to be more flexible and efficient.
