Cognosante Announces Addition of Catherine Graeff as Director of Health Insurance Exchange

MCLEAN, Va. – October 5, 2011 – Cognosante, a leading provider of healthcare IT to state and federal agencies and regional health organizations, announces the addition of Catherine Graeff, RPh, as director of the company’s Health Insurance Exchange division. In this role, Ms. Graeff is leading the development and management of the company’s health insurance exchange services and solutions. “Cathy’s expertise positions us well to assist our clients with this critical initiative to provide the American public with widespread and comprehensive access to affordable insurance coverage,” shared Michele Kang, Cognosante’s CEO. “She has a thorough knowledge of business processes in government payer programs and has developed and implemented information technology solutions for health plans, pharmacy benefit managers and database management organizations. Previously, she held the position of Senior Vice President of Communications and Industry Relations at the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). During her years in various leadership positions with the Council, she played a key role in defining pharmacy’s place in the transformation to a patient-centered healthcare system. While on staff at NCPDP, Graeff led product and business redesign initiatives that tripled licensing revenue from NCPDP-provider database products.
