MCLEAN, Va. – December 15, 2011 – Cognosante, a leading provider of IT services to healthcare organizations, has been awarded a contract to assist the Texas Health and Human Services Commission with their upcoming Texas Medicaid Management Information System (TMMIS) procurements. “We are excited to partner with the state of Texas on this important initiative,” shared Cognosante Managing Director Mary Jane Teirumniks. “We will draw upon our extensive history of providing successful Medicaid systems procurement services and our experience in the evolution of Medicaid program structure, to bring innovative solutions to the next generation of the TMMIS.” Under the award, Cognosante will assist the state of Texas with the assessment, functional requirements gathering and development of a request for proposal for the replacement TMMIS. The replacement system will be compliant with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture principles and framework. In addition, it will meet the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services conditions and standards for modularity and interoperability.
