Sean M. Gallagher serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Cognosante. In his current role, Sean has overall managerial responsibility for the operation of the Company’s legal, contracts and compliance departments, and provides legal advice on a wide array of substantive areas impacting the Company and its subsidiaries, including corporate governance, acquisitions, litigation, government contracting, ethics, labor/employment, intellectual property, benefits and real estate.
Prior to joining Cognosante, Sean was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Stanley, Inc., an NYSE-listed provider of information technology services and solutions to U.S. defense, intelligence and federal civilian government agencies. Earlier in his career, Sean practiced as a corporate finance and securities attorney at the law firms of Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells LLP) and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in Washington, D.C. While in private practice, Sean represented companies and their boards of directors with general securities and corporate governance issues, as well as representing companies and investment banking firms in connection with both public and private securities offerings.
Sean received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Syracuse University College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia (Corp Counsel) and Washington, D.C. Sean is also a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
