Susan Ackley, Director of Standards Compliance
Susan Ackley is director for our Standards Compliance practice, which includes ICD-10, 5010, D.0 and other upcoming mandates. Susan has more than 25 years of health care experience as a clinician, patient advocate, business analyst, project manager and change agent. Before joining Cognosante, she was an Executive Consultant at AHCCCS, the Arizona Medicaid program. She earned a BA from the University of Missouri and an MA in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University.
Don Bruns, Director of Healthcare Communications Services
Don Bruns is responsible for our call centers and document imaging solutions. He oversees project start-ups, call center operations, strategic planning, and technology and business development. Don has more than 25 years of project management experience, including the implementation and management of seven health insurance operational projects. He is a certified Project Management and Six Sigma Green Belt Professional, with a BS in economics and business administration from Iowa State University.
Jarred Clark, Managing Director
Jarred Clark serves as Managing Director, responsible for business development and delivery of consulting services on strategic accounts. He also leads our Project Management Services practice area. Jarred has more than 15 years of experience with large information technology projects including Medicaid, Behavioral Health and Child Welfare systems. Jarred has held leadership positions in both state and local government and the private sector. He is a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds an MPA from Portland State University.
Charles Goldberg, Managing Director
Charlie Goldberg serves as Managing Director, with lead responsibility for project management, staffing and business development in a number of mid-Atlantic and southeastern states. He has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry, with the last 10 years in the state and federal sectors. Charlie holds a BA in business-economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in Health Care Management.
Michael Hess, Managing Director
Mike Hess serves as Managing Director with overall responsibility for directing Cognosante’s client delivery in six states across the nation. Mike is a former Managing Director with BearingPoint and KPMG Consulting, as well as a former Partner with Unisys Corporation. He has more than 25 years of experience in state and federal information technology consulting, including large, complex statewide system integration projects. Mike received a BS in business administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Mary Jane Teirumniks, Managing Director
Mary Jane (MJ) Teirumniks is responsible for oversight and continued growth of contracts within Region 3, and leads our State Medicaid HIT Plan (SMHP) practice. In this role, she has responsibility for maintaining client relationships, monitoring of project teams performance and financials, business development and quality reviews of deliverables. MJ has participated in system requirements and procurement activities, as well as provided technical assistance for implementation and operations projects in more than 20 states. She is a PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a BSN from Indiana University and an MS in Health Services Administration, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP).
Richard Williams, Vice President, Technology and Solutions
Rick Williams currently leads the technical design, architecture and planning for our Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) solution. During Rick’s 26-year career in Healthcare Information Technology, he has helped create solutions for detection of fraud detection and abuse, healthcare analytics and data warehousing, and Health Information Exchange (HIE). He holds a BA in computer science and economics from Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia.
