Cognosante continually refreshes its multiple knowledge bases. These are repositories of information on legislation, interpretations, guidance documents, and Cognosante papers regarding impacts on clients and their systems, adjustments to methodologies, and prognosis on future directions. We maintain Knowledge Bases for MMIS, MITA, SHMP, HIE, and Health Insurance Exchange.
Cognosante staff volunteer many hours to standards organizations engaged in revitalizing national transactions and code sets that ultimately reshape our healthcare programs. These include ASC X12, HL7, IHE, CAQH, WEDI. NCPDP, and OMG.
We also support national initiatives such as the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, the MITA Technical Architecture Committee, the National Medicaid EDI HIPAA Workgroup, HIMSS national and local organizations, and the Private Sector Technology Group representing companies supporting federal and state Medicaid IT implementations. For the PSTG, Cognosante chairs the Knowledge Base Subcommittee.
