JOB DESCRIPTION
The RAC Auditor will be responsible for reviewing medical records to determine the accuracy of payment through verification of coding, billing, and supporting clinical documentation. This will include both desk and field audits. The ideal candidates should be an experienced professional with a strong background in CMS coding and reimbursement guidelines.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret coding requirements
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and providers
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Access – MS Project is a plus
Must have excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university
Certification in CPC or CS
