Megan Renfrew leads Cognosante’s Health Policy and Regulatory Affairs team, which advises the company on the impact of legislation, regulations, and other Federal and state policy issues on Cognosante’s business, with the goal of identifying business opportunities and risks. Megan previously worked in Cognosante’s Solutions Lab, developing innovative data analytics solutions for numerous states.
Before joining Cognosante in 2015, Megan was a Technical Director at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). At CMS, she led a Medicaid eligibility data collection and reporting project. She also reviewed section 1115 demonstrations, authorizing state Medicaid program innovation. Before CMS, Megan was an Assistant Counsel for the Office of Legislative Counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives. In that role, Megan drafted legislation related to Medicaid, Medicare, the Food and Drug Administration, health insurance reform, health-related appropriations, and Native American healthcare, including work on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Megan has also worked for the Governor’s Office in the State of Maine.
Megan holds a Masters degree in Public Affairs, with a certificate in Health and Health Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, as well as a Juris Doctor from Columbia University.
