Michele Kang is the founder, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman of Cognosante. She is a visionary in the field of health information technology, focusing Cognosante on doing things fundamentally differently, leveraging emerging electronic infrastructure, modular service-oriented architecture, and innovative business models. Under her leadership, Cognosante is building unparalleled, specialized capabilities and solutions connecting the dots among federal, state and local, and commercial health organizations and across siloed programs like Medicaid, HIE, HIX, and Integrated Eligibility. With a highly experienced, scalable management team and robust infrastructure she built, Cognosante is poised to reach $100 million in revenue in 2013.
Susan Fox, PhD., serves as president of Cognosante. Dr. Fox was the founder and Chair of the Board of FOX Systems, which merged with Cognosante in 2010. Fox Systems name formally changed to Cognosante in July 2011. With more than 25 years of experience assisting public and private health care programs, Dr. Fox is a nationally-recognized Medicaid, managed care, and HIPAA subject matter expert. She serves as Cognosante’s subject matter expert for the development of the Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Mark Shishida, Executive Vice President of Cognosante, is an expert in health and human service programs and supporting systems. He has 30 years of experience with federal, state and county Medicaid, Medicaid Waiver, Medicare, Aid to Families with Dependent Children/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (AFDC/TANF), child welfare, child support enforcement, social services, managed care, public health, mental health/behavioral health, WIC, and developmental disabilities programs.
Aaron Daniels, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Cognosante, is a dynamic, growth-focused executive with more than 26 years of experience in building and transforming companies. He has a proven track record in successfully growing companies, unlocking value and creating scalable operations. Together with Cognosante’s leadership team, he is responsible for executing the company’s aggressive growth and mergers and acquisitions plans, while continuing to build out a rapidly-scalable company infrastructure.
Thomas Stepka is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Cognosante. He is a proven leader with strong business and financial expertise, corporate strategy and operational skills combined with an excellent understanding of people. He has extensive experience in financial management, business restructuring and process re-engineering, leading to improved financial results. Tom's expertise spans development of business strategy and plans, internal and external strategic partnerships, pipeline management, strategic and operational planning, marketing software solutions and applications as well as financial planning, analysis and reporting.
Sean M. Gallagher serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Cognosante. In his current role, Sean has overall managerial responsibility for the operation of the Company’s legal, contracts and compliance departments, and provides legal advice on a wide array of substantive areas impacting the Company and its subsidiaries, including corporate governance, acquisitions, litigation, government contracting, ethics, labor/employment, intellectual property, benefits and real estate.
Davis Foster is Chief Growth Officer and Senior Vice President for Cognosante. In this role, she oversees the direction of the company’s business development, marketing, capture and strategic pursuits. She has extensive experience in both operations management and business development. Her expertise includes sales, operations and client management for both small and large information companies. Davis has more than 10 years of experience in civilian Health IT programs.
