Michele Kang

Founder, Chair of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer

A visionary in the field of health information technology, Michele founded Cognosante in 2008 to disrupt and challenge the status quo in the U.S. healthcare system. Leveraging a unique set of business, data, and technology expertise in a fundamentally different way, Cognosante provides innovative solutions central to carrying out national healthcare transformation. Under her leadership, Cognosante has emerged as one of the most trusted partners to key Federal and state health agencies, while growing profitably over 60% per year in the past five years.

Davis Foster

President of Health Data & Communications

Davis Foster is President of Cognosante’s Health Data and Communications (HDC) business unit, where she manages the company’s business process outsourcing and information technology services, solutions, and growth strategies.

Davis has served as General Manager for the HDC business unit and as Cognosante’s Chief Growth Officer, overseeing the direction of the company’s business development, marketing, capture, and strategic pursuits. She brings extensive experience in both operations management and business development, with expertise in sales, operations, and customer management for small and large health IT companies.

Jim Joyce

General Manager of Health Consulting Services

Jim Joyce leads Cognosante’s delivery of health information technology consulting services to state human service agencies. Jim has provided oversight for more than 30 large-state IT projects. He leads a team of six directors, managing contracts in 18 states, and serves as the account executive for two states. He recently conducted Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) 3.0 State Self-Assessments and oversaw several state Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) project management office projects, as well as independent validation and verification assessments with multiple MMIS solution vendors, ensuring that states meet Federal policies, standards, and certification.
